Biodata Format PDF Free Download: Print-Ready Rishta Sheets

Many Pakistani families still prefer a printed biodata to hand to the rishta aunty, submit to a bureau, or show at a family baithak. The physical page is the artifact that circulates through the biradari. Online-only is not enough for this workflow.

This page provides three print-ready A4 templates plus a fillable version, with print settings and how-to for the common workflows.

Three formats, use case each

FormatBest forWhat's on it

Why PDF beats Word for sharing

Person working with printed documents
PDF fonts embed. Word documents reformat unpredictably on the reader's machine. For a rishta biodata that circulates through biradari, always PDF.
  • Fonts embed. Urdu Nastaliq renders correctly on every device. Word files show boxes or Roman transliteration on machines missing the font.
  • Layout preserved. Your careful column alignment does not reflow on the recipient's screen.
  • Not accidentally editable. The recipient cannot accidentally change your income or your age.
  • Smaller file size. Easier to WhatsApp.
  • Consistent print output. Printers render PDF identically regardless of software version.

How to export PDF from Word (two-line guide)

From Word (Windows/Mac): File > Save As > choose "PDF" from the file type dropdown > Save. Do not use "Print to PDF" (which loses embedded fonts).
From a phone (Android): Open the file in Google Docs > Menu > Share & export > Save as PDF. Or use "Print" and choose "Save as PDF" as the destination.

SettingValue
PaperA4 (never letter, which reformats the layout)
Scale100 percent (never "Fit to page" - it shrinks fonts)
Margins15mm all around
Photo resolution300 dpi minimum
ColourBlack and white safe (photocopy proof)
Paper weight80 gsm for casual, 100 gsm for bureau submission

How to photograph a filled biodata for WhatsApp

When your aunty asks you to send a biodata photo instead of PDF, follow these rules so the photo stays readable:

  1. Flat surface. Place the biodata on a table, not held in the hand.
  2. Daylight, not flash. Natural light avoids shadow lines and glare.
  3. Directly overhead. Camera parallel to the paper, not at an angle.
  4. Portrait crop. Fill the frame with the biodata, minimal border.
  5. Use "document" mode if your phone camera has one (iPhone iOS 17+ and most modern Androids do). It auto-flattens and enhances contrast.
  6. Send as image, not compressed. On WhatsApp, use "Document" to send instead of the camera icon, which downgrades the resolution.

Keep a digital backup

A printed biodata circulates and can go missing. A digital backup on QuickRishta keeps the same data accessible from any device, updatable when your details change, and searchable by families who use the platform. Print for the aunty; digital for durability.

Common formatting mistakes

  • Using Letter-size paper instead of A4
  • Selecting "Fit to page" in the print dialog (shrinks fonts to unreadable)
  • Colour-only layouts that photocopy poorly
  • Photo attached separately instead of embedded in the PDF
  • Two-column layouts that break at the wrong point
  • Urdu written in Roman transliteration on a formal biodata
